Frequently asked questions
The safety model, code signing, and what Clueprint actually reads.
Is Clueprint signed and notarized by Apple?
Yes. Clueprint is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple, and the notarization ticket is stapled into the app, so it opens normally on first launch with no Gatekeeper warning and no Open Anyway dance. If macOS ever does complain, the download was damaged or incomplete, so fetch it again rather than working around the warning.
Can Clueprint delete my work?
No. Dirty or unpushed worktrees are never removable, every action re-verifies against a fresh scan before running, nothing happens without your confirmation, and abandoned projects are archived (moved to a sibling _archived folder), never deleted.
What does Clueprint read on my Mac?
Git repositories and worktrees under your chosen scan roots, Docker containers via the docker CLI, listening processes and ports via system tools, and running agent CLI sessions (Claude, Codex, and friends). Everything is read locally; nothing leaves your machine.
Does it phone home? Is there telemetry?
The app scans your development environments locally and does not send usage analytics or crash reports. It probes localhost ports, can fetch your configured git remotes to detect merged branches (enabled by default, switchable in Settings), and contacts Polar to activate, validate, or deactivate a paid license. Activation includes your Mac's computer name as a device label. Agent actions can pass a prompt and worktree context to the agent you choose. See the privacy policy for the data sent by each feature.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. The download is approximately 4.6 MB. It is a native SwiftUI app, with no Electron or separate background daemon.
When does a worktree count as 'safe to clean'?
When every check passes: no uncommitted changes, no unpushed commits, branch merged into the default branch, no containers or processes running from it, and no activity for over 24 hours (configurable).
What does 'Archive Project' do exactly?
It moves the whole project folder and all of its worktrees into a sibling _archived folder. Every file, including dirty and unpushed work, stays intact on disk. Moving the folder back restores it completely.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Clueprint is free. Every feature works, with no trial and no license key.
